How nice it is to see the blue sky for a few hours this week. The milder weather has allowed us to cut the tees, approaches and greens and also feed them.
We have made good progress with the bunker work and have approximately 60% of the green side bunkers filled with the new sand. Further top ups will be required over the next few weeks in these bunkers as the weather and bunker raking allows the sand to mix and settle.
We have carried out maintenance work on all our greens equipment, giving a full service and replacing blades where necessary, all are now ready for the start of the new playing season.
Now that we have a frost free period our agronomist (David Stansfield) will visit the club. David is scheduled to visit at the end of next week. The details of David’s report will be available for members to read.
New 150 yard markers and 1st tee path
The Captain has initiated work programs to replace the 150 yard marker trees with new green 150 yard marker posts and upgrade the path area around the 1st tee. The 150 yard markers are work in progress and should be completed in the next 7-10 days. The work on the path around the 1st tee is scheduled for the mid to end of March.
