It’s been a busy week cutting tees, fairways, approaches and greens, and we’ve also worked on tidying up the edges of the bunkers. You may also notice that the trench has been cut around the back of the 15th green. This was work recommended in the recent agronomist report – in cutting the ditch many roots were broken and it’s expected that we’ll see a rapid improvement in the quality of this green in the coming weeks with these roots no longer sucking moisture and nutrients out of the putting surface. We’ll also be carrying this work out at the back of the 16th green in the near future. Both areas will be marked as ground under repair.
The fairways have recovered quickly from the winter weather and are in good shape for this time of year. Winter Rules will be taken out of play with effect from midnight on Thursday April 13th. Therefore from Good Friday morning no cleaning and placing on the fairways is allowed.
