Forget Sergio, the undisputed winner of this year’s Masters is Brian Steele.

Wooden tee-markers, yellow pins and Masters flags, firm fairways, fast greens, difficult pin positions, and the sun was shining, no this wasn’t Augusta, this was our very own North Oxford Golf Course. After our very own Ceremonial Drive-in, the Starter announced ‘This is Game Number One, on the Tee …’ and we were off!

A large scoreboard outside the clubhouse reflected how difficult the course was playing, but in the end Brian Steele came out on top with a hard fought score of 37 points with Jordan Tucker and Dave Titcombe in second and third on count back respectively with 36 points. Our Men’s Captain did the honours and presented our Masters Champion with the famous Green Jacket as you can see in the photograph. Below you can see your Men’s Vice Captain Brian England about to tee off into the sunshine.

The decor inside the clubhouse also reflected the theme of the day with tables covered in green lining and we were treated to the traditional Champions Dinner of… Burger & Chips!  Thank you also to Phil Plater and his team for making the course look fantastic and thank you to our catering team for a great BBQ.

Our Men’s Captain would like to thank all the members who took part on the day. We raised £300 towards the captains charity Springfield School in Witney
