As a club we thought it was important to buy a defibrillator unit, which is due for delivery in the next few days. This potentially life saving machine is fully automatic and very easy to use. When it arrives we’ll decide the most appropriate location, probably around the clubhouse entrance. It will be kept in a very visible alarmed metal container.
We want to make sure that all our staff are trained to confidently use the defibrillator. We’re also arranging a couple of dates for members to be shown how to use it if they’d like to.
The money to buy the Defibrillator was raised at the Sportsman’s Dinner raffle with a signed Ladies England Cricket team shirt being the star prize. The shirt was very kindly donated by Sue Stewart’s niece Natalie Sciver, the impressive England cricketer. Thanks also to Mike and Linda Strange and David Thompson who helped organise this, and of course thank you to everyone on the night who bought raffle tickets raising over £1100.
