Congratulations to NOGC member Jim Coleman and his Oxfordshire-based pro partner, Eddie Pepperell, on winning the 2018 NOGC Claret Jug.  Jim hit a 65 at the weekend, and this was added to Eddie’s brilliant 67 in his final round at The Open at Carnoustie to give an aggregate of 132, four shots ahead of Bryan Wiggins and Phil Mickelson.

Eddie said afterwards, ” “I was a little hungover. I had too much to drink last night. I was so frustrated with yesterday that today was – I wouldn’t say a write-off, but I didn’t feel as though I was in the tournament.  So it’s all down to Jim Coleman that we got the job done.”

It is the second time that Phil Mickelson has been runner-up in this prestigious NOGC event.  He said afterwards that he is determined to come back and finally lift the trophy.
