We would like to give you advanced notice of some significant greens maintenance work that will be starting on Monday 10th September and will take 3-4 days to complete – subject, of course, to the weather conditions being suitable.
As you may have noticed the extreme weather conditions has exposed weaknesses in the root structure on some greens, and this has damaged the playing surfaces in some areas. This greens maintenance work of hollow tining (see video here) will also include over seeding and dressing with sand. This work will strengthen the greens, improve the playing surface in time for the autumn and winter playing season.
We have a plan to work on the greens a a regular basis in the future (with very little disruption) to develop a strong healthier root structure. We apologise in advance for the inconvenience this work will cause. Philip and Sue will be pleased to work with you to arrange reciprocal golf with other local clubs during the affected week if you would like to – thank you for your patience and understanding.
