Ahoy me hearties!  Well what a fun day the ladies had with so many dressed and talking like a pirate on their own ‘Talk like a Pirate Day’! Even the trolleys had their own Jolly Rogers!

Playing a 3 ball alliance over 18 holes, with 2 scores to count and all 3 on the par 3’s, the teams armed with pistols and cutlasses attacked the course and on occasions the opposition!

Shiver me timbers the result was close with 4 teams scoring 83 points but the winning team on count-back was the ship Golden Birdies crewed by Captain Pinkie (Sue White), Morgan Morris (Ros Morris) and Dreadlock Dreves (Lorraine Drever), were confirmed the winners.

The prize for the best team in fancy dress went to Linda Strange, Janet Clarke and Lesley Robinson.

The best team name was awarded to Black Scabbeth, crewed by Sue Simms, Sue Stewart and Jill Northover.

Avast ye! Nearest the treasure was a shortened tee on the 10th to approximately 100 yards. Blow me down our Lady Captain, Maureen Rhymes, only sank a hole in one and declared it wasn’t nearest the pin! The treasure was therefore awarded to Sue Simms, the nearest contender.

Yo ho ho…. a fabulous day was had by all.
