Well, what a day at this year’s 3-Club. The first hole in one in its 45 year history, and who better to achieve it than Malcolm Hookham who’s played in 44 of the 45 events.
To cap it off, Malcolm, along with his partner Philip Morley our General Manager, won the day with 43 points. The runner up was Antony Davies and our Lady Captain Maureen Rhymes with 41 points, third place went to Mike Tippett and Stuart Newstead and in fourth was Dave Dobson and Ros Morris. The best front nine was Sue White and Alan Bennett and the best back nine was Kevin Johnson and Steve Doyle.
Year in year out this competition proves that any combination can win or be in the prizes, and it was great to see three ladies who supported this event in the prizes.
A total of £1,118.00 was raised. Some of this money was spent to have the weather vane cleaned up and re-painted, and the Men’s Committee will decide on how best to spend the remaining funds on your club.
Thank you to all 54 members who played and helped raise money for the benefit of all club members. I’d like to give special thanks to Brian England, Jason Riley and Sue White for their help before and on the day.
